Thoughts

Thoughts are not Facts

We often believe the things we tell ourselves without question.  Sometimes our thoughts can be untrue.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or "CBT" teaches us how to reframe things in a way that releases anxiety and prevents rumination.

CBT can allow you to release thoughts that no longer serve you and are causing distress.

We have all experienced anxiety to a certain degree in our lives.  Anxiety can become a problem if it is interfering with our ability to enjoy our life.

I work with clients to identify helpful tools to help calm down the nervous system and provide some relief from our anxious thoughts and the uncomfortable physical symptoms that can often accompany them.

We have all heard the saying "You can pick your friends but not your family".  Our relationships with family can be the most rewarding and supportive relationships we may ever experience in life.  They can also be the most destructive and challenging. 

I've worked with many clients experiencing relationship issues with family members and also those having challenges with blended families.

Depression

Everybody has moments of sadness in life.  It is part of the human condition.  Prolonged sadness however can be an indicator of depression. You may have been diagnosed with depression by a medical practitioner but are having difficulties coping.

Depression can also be isolating leading to extreme feelings of loneliness.  Let me work with you to identify ways and tools to help you feel connected and more hopeful.
